Privacy Policy

How Carbon Corridor handles reader data, corridor tips, dispatch subscriptions and the technical records behind this site. Last updated 12 March 2025.

What we collect

When you subscribe to the weekly dispatch, send a corridor tip or write to the editors, we store the name, email address, phone number and message you provide. Alongside that, our hosting and analytics layers record technical data: browser type, device, approximate region, referring page and the events you trigger on the site. We do not ask for more than the reporting conversation needs.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies keep the site working and help us see which corridor notes and method pieces get read. Analytics events cover page views, scroll depth and form submissions. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may then behave differently. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Forms and submissions

Subscription and tip forms are processed by our email and form providers, who act as processors on our behalf. Submissions are used to send the dispatch, follow up on editorial tips and keep an internal record of correspondence. We do not sell reader data, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.

Retention and sharing

Contact records are kept while the subscription or editorial thread is active, then archived or deleted. Technical logs are retained for a shorter period for security and troubleshooting. Data may be handled by hosting, analytics and email providers located outside your country; those transfers rely on standard contractual safeguards.

Your rights

You can request access to the data we hold about you, ask for corrections, request deletion, or receive a portable copy. You can withdraw consent to the dispatch at any time using the unsubscribe link, and you can object to analytics processing. Readers in the EU and California have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively; we honour those requests regardless of where you write from.

Accuracy and no misleading claims

Carbon Corridor publishes method notes, corridor observations and interview material. We do not present sponsored content as independent reporting, we do not use fake urgency or invented endorsements, and we do not claim official affiliation with any operator, terminal or regulator. Where a figure depends on an assumption, we say so.

Privacy contact

Send privacy requests, data access questions or correction notices to the editors. We aim to respond within a reasonable working period.

Cookie settings

We use cookies to keep the site reliable, remember basic choices, and understand which pages are useful. You can accept, reject, or review the settings before continuing.
